Gilbert L. Koepplin
Gilbert Lee Koepplin, 70, of Acampo passed away on May 14, 2008 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 5, 1938 in Missoula, Mont., to Albert and Elsie Koepplin.
Shortly after, the family moved to Elgin, N.D., where he and his sister, Lillian, and brothers, Larry and Alan, were raised. In 1955, Gilbert joined the Army and, when his duty ended, he and his wife, Darlene Heth Koepplin, moved to Lodi and subsequently bought their family home in Acampo.
Gilbert was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to music, traveling on road trips, and designing and building things. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, attending their baseball games, and building and flying rockets and model airplanes with them.
A church service was held Monday at the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Galt with graveside burial at Galt Cemetery.
Surviving him are his wife of 51 years, Darlene; sons, Carey, Randy and Kevin; daughters, Lori and Shari; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and sister, Lillian.
Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one grandson, Christopher Masdonati.

Arnold H. Nelson
Arnold H. Nelson, 84, of Galt passed away in Sacramento on May 17, 2008. He was born April 11, 1924 in Arvika, Sweden.
A longtime resident of Galt, Arnold was a veteran of World War II and served as a past commander of the Galt VFW. He retired from Campbell Soup Company in 1987 after 36 years with the company.
Surviving him are three sisters, Alice Underwood of Springfield, Mo., Elsie Schulz of Sacramento and Helen Reeder of Sacramento; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Gustav and Hulda Nelson.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21 at East Lawn Mortuary, 9189 E. Stockton Blvd., in Elk Grove.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that remembrances be made in Arnold’s name to the charity of your choice.
Katelynn Romero
Katelynn Romero of Thornton died at birth on May 16, 2008 at Lodi Memorial Hospital. She was affiliated with Mater Ecclesiae Catholic Church in Thornton.
She is survived by her parents, Marina Del Toro and Richard Romero of Thornton; big brother, Richard Jr.; big sister, Breanna and twin sister, Kristyn Romero of Thornton; grandparents, Olivia Castillo of Thornton, Pedro Del Toro of San Diego, Ana Romero of Stockton and Leonardo Romero of Stockton; uncles, Nathan and Brandon Del Toro of Thornton, Leonardo Romero, Jr. and Luis Romero, of Stockton; aunts, Ashley Del Toro of Thornton, Denise Soria of Thornton, and Vickie and Anita Romero of Stockton; plus many great aunts and uncles.
Graveside services were held Tuesday at Galt Arno Cemetery with Ben Salas Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Holly Ann Hendricks-Ryan
Holly Ann Hendricks-Ryan, 32, passed away at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto on May 7, 2008. She was born Dec. 26, 1975 in Sacramento.
Holly graduated from Galt High School in 1994. She underwent heart-lung transplant surgery at Stanford in 1999. After recovering from the surgery, Holly lived her life to the fullest, including skydiving from an airplane. She was a very caring person and was an inspiration to many and loved by all.
Surviving her are her fiancé, Kimball Huff; mother, Jane Hendricks; father, Tom Hendricks; grandmother, Shirley Ryan; and sisters, Kristy (Josh) Reed, Stacey (Kacy) Kelley, and Bonnie Brooksher; plus several aunts and uncles.
Her grandmother, Goldie Hendricks, preceded her in death.
A memorial service was held May 16 at Cherokee Memorial Park, Chapel of Flowers, in Lodi.
