Robert C. Pierce
- Viola Larson Barkdoll
Viola Larson Barkdoll, 94, of Acampo, died Oct. 8 at a local convalescent hospital.
She was born Viola Mary Biggs on Sept. 11, 1913 in Winona, Mo. She has lived in Acampo since 1988 and retired from Campbell Soup as an inspector.
She enjoyed camping and her puppy.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Barkdoll, of Acampo; son, Don Larson of Colorado; daughter, Joyce Perry of Acampo, 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Her daughter, Bonnie Jean Schmierer, and stepson Alan Barkdoll preceded her in death.
A graveside service was held Friday, Oct. 12 at the Galt Cemetery.

Robert C. Pierce
Robert C. Pierce of Galt passed away in Lodi on Oct. 11, 2007. He was 78.
He was born on Jan. 21, 1929 in Caraway, Ark. and has lived in the Galt area since 1971.
He was a retired First Class Sergeant with the United States Army serving 25 years including Vietnam and Korea. He loved fishing, dancing, sports and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving are wife Nancy Pierce; brothers, Bud Pierce, Ben Pierce and Sam Pierce; sisters, Faye Ritenour and Dorothy Case; daughters, Sharon Pierce, Janet McFarland, and Amy Burrow; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His parents Robert and Alma Pierce preceded him in death.
A celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. at the Loyal Order of Moose in Lodi.

Kenneth David Holbrook
Kenneth (Ken) David Holbrook, 43, of Acampo, passed away Sunday after an extended illness. He was born in Walnut Creek on July 8, 1964. He was a resident of Acampo for the past four years.
He was a police officer for Union City for 14 years and a reserve police officer for Sacramento for two years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting sports, cooking, and loved the outdoors and spending time with his family.
His K-9 partners Drigon and Ingo preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Kelly, his sons Tyler and Justin, and his daughter Morgan, all of Acampo; his parents Chuck and Terry Holbrook of Walnut Creek; sister Donna and husband Murray McLeod of Seattle; brother Chris and wife Judy Holbrook of El Dorado Hills; sister Katie and husband Neil Bramwell of Walnut Creek; six nieces and four nephews; and K-9 partner Unkas.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 at the Chapel of the Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park located at along Highway 99 at East Harney Lane in Lodi.
