Rene I. Corona
Rene Inclan Corona (40) of Galt died April 30, 2007 after a short illness. He was born Oct. 16, 1966 in San Pedo Tesistan, Jalisco, Mexico.
Mr. Corona resided in San Jose from 1982 to 1997, coming to Galt 10 years ago. He worked in maintenance. He enjoyed playing soccer and volleyball. His No. 1 favorite soccer team was Las Chivas, and his No. 2 favorite was Los Tecos de Guadalajara. He loved traveling to Mexico, and listening to his favorite song, La Ruleta del Amor with Vicente Fernandez.
Surviving him are his mother, Evangelina Corona; father, Jose Corona; sisters, Imelda Corona, Hilda Corona, Ortencia Corona, Evangelina Corona Jr., Karen Corona, Emeria Corona, Monica Corona; brothers, Heriberto Corona, Abimael Corona; grandparents, Miguel Inclan and Selsa Alejandrez; nieces, Hilda Corona Jr., Maria Evangelina Corona, Mayra Ochoa, Maribel ochoa; nephews, Saul Gutierrez, Mocario Ochoa, Arturo Corona, Pedro Ochoa Jr., Eeron Ochoa, Marco A. Magana.
A morning mass was held May 4 at St. Christopher’s Church in Galt with Father Copsey officiating. Committal followed at Galt Cemetery.
Ben Salas Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Thomas E. Patterson
Thomas E. Patterson (57) of Galt passed away on April 30, 2007 from a motorcycle accident. He was born in Vallejo on July 1, 1949.
Mr. Patterson was a registered nurse in ICU at Lodi Memorial Hospital and a member of the Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church. He enjoyed motorcycle riding, house remodeling, astronomy, painting, sketching, drawing and sculpting.
He served as an army medic in Vietnam and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal W/2 Bronze Service Stars; national Defense Service Medal; Republic of Vietnam, Campaign Medal; two Purple Hearts; Combat Medical Badge; Silver Star Medal; Army Commendation Medal; and Bronze Star Medal.
Surviving him are his wife, Sherry of Galt; sons, Jason, T.J., Randy and D.J.; daughters, Kristi Fout and Michelle Munger; brother, John and wife Beeb of Benicia; sister, Julie Patterson of Benicia; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held April 4 at Galt Cemetery. A celebration of his life memorial service was held April 5 at Galt Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tom Patterson Scholarship Fund for Galt Adventist Church School.
Dolores I. Warren
Dolores Irene Warren (86) went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2007. She was born on April 3, 1921 in Modesto to Guadalupe and Ruperto Atilano. Her school years were spent in Manteca.
Dolores has resided and worked in Stockton, Hayward and then back to Stockton to retire from J.C. penney. She lived in Galt for the last 13 years with her daughter, son-in-law, granddaughters Lindsey and Taylor, and family dog Ozzy.
Dolores was an incredible artist. She loved spending time with her friends from the Galt Chabolla Center, reading, thrift stores, slot machines and, most of all, family.
Surviving her are three sons from her first marriage to Frank Garcia, Sr., Frank Garcia (Joyce), Rupert Garcia (Sammi) and Godfrey Garcia (Irene); daughter, Trudy Bray (Michael); friend and ex-husband, John B. Warren; brother, Joe Atilano; many nieces, nephews, family and friends; 10 grandchildren, Frank Garcia III (Cheryl), Cindy Heath (Christopher), Debra Wyer (Jason), Rob Ver Planck (Amy), Brian Ver Planck (Ellen), Rick Garcia, Dan Garcia (Ann), Chris Garcia (Brandy), Lindsey Bulahan (Tommy) and Taylor Bray; 12 great grandchildren, Ryan, Rachel, Carissa, Casey, Sean, Kyle, Nathan, Jacob, Calleanne, Danny, Chris, Jazmin, and one great granddaughter on the way.
Preceding her in death were three sisters, Theresa Avila, Romona Fernandez and Mary Yrungary.
Her children will miss their mom’s sense of humor and zest for life, and thank Sacramento County Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 11 at St. Christopher’s Church, 950 S. Lincoln Way in Galt.
