David W. Holman
David Wayne Holman (58) of Galt died in Lodi on Jan. 25, 2007 of natural causes. He was born in Oakland on Feb. 20, 1948 and lived in Hayward-Union City for 52 years, moving to Galt in 2001.
Mr. Holman was an ironworker and maintenance mechanic who enjoyed motorcycle riding and fishing in his spare time.
He is survived by his children, Kimberlee (Brian) Johnson, Brandi (Robin) Dahl, Jenny Barusso and J. Beau Holman; grandchildren, David K. Johnson, Amanda Johnson, Sabrina Dahl and Matthew Holman; brother, Steve D. Holman; and friend and former wife, Sandra Holman.
A memorial service on Feb. 3 to celebrate his life was held at Ben Salas Funeral Home in Galt.
Terry Dean Bryant
Terence “Terry” Dean Bryant went to be with our lord on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 after a long, courageous battle with diabetes. He was born Sept. 28, 1957 in Melvindale, Mich., to Daniel and Ilene Bryant.
Terry graduated from Melvindale High School before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1975. He served as a member of the 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division from 1975-1979 in Camp Pendleton, Calif.
On July 18, 1987, Terry married the love of his life and best friend, Lori Liebelt-Bryant. They resided in Lodi before making their final home in Galt with their precious family, Marvin, Robert and Jenna. Terry worked as a dedicated employee for Goehring Pump, Lodi Metal Tech, and ended his working career at Holt of California as an electric EPG technician and member of Operating Engineers, Local 3.
Terry was an avid sportsman and supporter of his children’s activities. He served years as a coach for BOBS and Galt Youth Baseball programs. Terry’s hobbies included mainly fishing, and hunting, jeeping, riding quads with his daughter and camping at Dillon Beach. He pursued his passion for life and fishing with zeal and shared many wonderful days with friends and family, all who enjoyed his wonderful storytelling, sense of humor, smiles and the twinkle in his eyes.
Terry is survived by his wife, Lori; sons, Marvin (Andrea) and Robert (Carly); daughter Jenna; grandchildren, Taylor, Terence and Baby Bryant due in August; parents, Daniel and Ilene Bryant; sisters, Debbie (Gary) Ramsey and Pam (Pat) O’Brien.
His loving extended family includes Myron and Diane Liebelt, Rick (Keely) Cordova, Jeff and heidi Plunkett; and nieces and nephews, Carrie, Joy, Jessica, Shawna, Lauren, Walter, Victor, Hunter and Hailey.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 S. Pleasant St. in Lodi on Friday, Feb. 9 at 4 p.m.

Martha Grabau
Funeral services for Martha Grabau (91) of Galt, formerly of Lehr, N.D., are scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 420 S. Central Ave., Lodi, officiated by Pastor Ricky Himm.
Visitation is Thursday, Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Rocha’s Mortuary, 214 S. School St., Lodi.
Mrs. Grabau died Jan. 4, 2007 after a short stay in a care facility in Rancho Cordova near her daughter’s home.
The youngest of three children, born to German-Russian emigrants John Sr. and Christina (Layer) Bauer on Jan. 8, 1916 near Lehr, N.D., she was raised on a farm near Lehr and was educated in rural schools.
She married Fred Grabau on Aug. 14, 1938. They farmed together for several years before moving to Lodi in 1956. Mr. Grabau died Sept. 28, 1991.
Mrs. Grabau enjoyed gardening, crocheting, sewing and other crafts. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lodi, and resided in Galt since 1981.
Surviving her are son, Melvin (Sharon) of Stockton; daughter, Delphaine Pyles of Sacramento; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and her cat, Misty, who misses her dearly.
Preceding her in death were her parents, John Sr. and Christina Bauer; husband, Fred; brother, John Jr.; sister, Ottilia Mundt; daughter, Shirley Dianne; and son, LeRoy Clarence.
Interment will be made at Lodi Memorial Cemetery with Rocha’s Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
Lonnie Cagle
Ulysses “Lonnie” Cagle (76) of Woodbridge passed away on Feb. 3, 2007 in Lodi. He was born to Lloyd and Dona Cagle on Oct. 6, 1930 in LeFlore County, Oklahoma.
In 1943, the family moved to Lodi, and he was married to Hazel Brooks on Sept. 17, 1950. Mr. Cagle served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. They were residents of Concord from 1958-1965 and Brentwood from 1965-1979. He was employed by East Bay Municipal District as a foreman for 24 years and retired in 1977.
In 1979, he moved to Galt where they resided until moving to Woodbridge in 2003. He was a member of the Woodbridge Community Church and an avid coin collector.
In addition to his parents, his sister, Rene Dye, preceded him in death.
Surviving him are his wife, Hazel Cagle of Woodbridge; his children and their spouses, Steve and Connie Cagle of Pleasant Valley, Randy and Donna Cagle of Acampo, Sherry and David Wolfenbarger of Byron, and Sue and Mike Wolfe of New Braunfels, Texas; a brother, Chester Cagle of Lodi; six grandchildren, Kristen McDonald and Matt Bryan Wolfenbarger and Andy, Melissa Wolfenbarger, Amy Cagle, Heather Wolfe and Austin Wolfe; two step-grandchildren, Dawn Carvahlo and Tony, and Dean DeVol; and three step-great-grandchildren, Kattie, Brandon and Brady Carvahlo.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 9, at 1 p.m. in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park at Highway 99 and Harney Lane in Lodi. Rev. Dr. Sammie Walls will officate, assisted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Committal will follow in Garden of Memories at Cherokee Memorial park.
Visitation will be held Friday from 12:15 p.m. to service time in the chapel.
